Jaz Dhami's Bari Der

Jaz Dhami stepped onto the Bhangra scene last summer and has been melting every girl's heart with his sweet vocals ever since. As the summer of music is just about to begin, Jaz Dhami has released a video for the song "Bari Der."

Jaz Dhami is often assumed to be related to H-Dhami but let us set the record straight and say it is just a coincidence! Jaz Dhami may have just released his debut album about year ago, but he made his first vocal appearance on Aman Hayer's song "Sadi Jind Jaan" from the album "Groundshaker 2."

For such a young talent, Jaz Dhami has great control of his voice and is able to keep it powerful! Keeping it young and fresh, Jaz's first two videos included amazing girls, cars, and Las Vegas! Don't expect the same from his latest video as "Bari Der" takes us back to his roots, Punjab!

The skies are blue and the fields are thriving! Jaz really switches it up as his video has some of the sweetest kids in it. The Jazz Virk directed video tells a story and proves that the winning formula for a video doesn't have to be hot girls or choreographed dancers; it's nice to see something different.

As summer approaches, we hope to see and hear more from Jaz Dhami. We're sure he's going to be tearing it up at all the summer melas, but who knows what else this star has in store for us? Let us know what you think of Jaz Dhami's video for his song "Bari Der." Do you appreciate the sweet and simple message or do you prefer a flashier and more fun video?

Captures an 80s Bhangra energy

Jaz Dhami
With Theke Wali already one of the biggest Asian tracks of 2009, Jaz Dhami’s self-titled debut album hits the ground running.

The Birmingham-based vocalist first impressed when his talents were introduced on Sadi Jind Jaan from Aman Hayer’s Groundshaker 2; ever since, his own album has been eagerly anticipated. And rightly so: Jaz Dhami sets the bar for Bhangra releases this year.
It kicks off with dancefloor-fillers Gabroo and the aforementioned Theke Wali, both featuring very definite nods back to the UK Bhangra scene of the 80s. The opening brace have the listener anticipating a very Desi album, one brimming with strong dohl beats and sweet lyrics.
The fantastic Bari Der and Tera Mera are two fine examples of Dhami’s ability to vocalise the core emotion of a song and bring soul to the piece. The former movingly evokes memories of loved ones, and is perhaps inspired from the teenage years Dhami spent away from his own family, studying a classical music degree in India. That time spent in India is also reflected in the folk and traditional sounds that pepper the album.
With Bhangra Shuroo – which appears in two mixes – Dhami’s dream of being a Bollywood playback singer may well find fruition. Sung in Hindi, the song twists and winds like a Madhuri or Hrithik Bollywood dance number.
The popularity and respect Dhami has already garnered suggests he could become the first UK Asian act to follow in Gurdas Mann’s footsteps and sell out vast arenas. That will take some time yet, but Dhami is taking the right steps with an album that manages to capture the energy of the 80s while remaining relevant to a modern audience.

Jaz Dhami Live UKAMA 2010

Tera Mera is a track that will get your pulse thumping through the heart felt lyrics executed with the sweet profusion of love and desire that Jaz unravels through his vocals.

The song follows a well worn path, expressing the emotion left behind when a relationship ends and one of the participants can't forget and moving on is difficult.
Tera Mera's romantic lyrics rings truth in many of us, and Jaz Dhami's mature voice laces the track with a strong presence which he executes immaculately.
The Bollywood style Tera Mera highlights Jaz Dhami's versatility and it differs from most of the tracks which are currently out as Tera Mera controls your ear and plays off your inner most emotions
The video shot on location in Marbella Spain, comes courtesy of award winning film/music video producer and director Jazz Virk, who worked with Jaz Dhami on Roji Milye and Theke Wali.
